Ok just a little venting here...
i hate when people put pictures or crazy colors on thier profile background.
You are taking away from the pictures with the horrible colors

Now well I agree and disagree. Its all about moderation and contrast between the words and the blocks imho. The background image is just spicy wallpaper and shouldn't effect the content. Done correctly and with some colour coordination it is pretty great and is effectively another gallery in itself, but done badly its as you suggest a messy dogs dinner. I make GIF wallpapers up, especially and change them as the mood takes me but keep to tasteful greys for the blocks. Have a look and let me know what you think why don't you ? :-*

I couldn't agree more. Not to mention that it's impossible to read some of them because of the colors they choose.
