For the purposes of these blogs/tutorials I'm going to presume you are using Photoshop. I use CS4...I trialed CS5 but it hogs the memory so didnt upgrade.....but anything I state are techniques from CS3.
I also use a grahics tablet as well. a mouse is good but you have to be a little patient
This first tutorial will not be a full blown run through of how to use a
specific tools but an introduction to Faking on Imagefap,
basically a GOLDEN RULES guide to general good practice. Some may sound preachy in parts but having faked on here for over 4 years now I think I can speak with some authority.
This is not a tutorial for those that want to jerk off, this is a tutorial for those who, like me, see faking as an art form.
Why am I doing this tutorial, well I get lots of requests from people asking me how I do the fakes and that they've tried doing them as well but with disappointing results. This is because EVERYONE I have come across lacks EXPERIENCE. If all you have is MICROSOFT PAINT STOP READING NOW.
GOLDEN RULE NUMBER ONE
PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
This is probably the hardest thing to communicate without sounding like a show off but faking, when done well, looks easy. So easy in fact that people who have no experience THINK they can do it. Well they are kidding themselves and thats the bottom line folks. If you've NEVER used photoimaging software before ESPECIALLY Photoshop, the honest truth is your fakes will look like SHIT.
Ive been using Photoshop since 1995 and am STILL learning. Not because I
dont know what I'm doing but because Photoshop always adds new stuff to
each version, but in Photoshop there are 20 ways at least to do the one
job and by doing you learn. It's why its the Daddy and always will be the Daddy of photo
imaging softwares. The problem is because it is SO good people expect it
to do everything for them, which is a common mistake and like all software there is NO MAGIC DO WHAT YOU WANT IT TO DO INSTANTLY tool. Photoshop is VAST
in what it can do particularly when it comes to faking, and the more
you know about a software the better your fakes will be. Having said that, Photoshop can be a ridiculously daunting environment but all it is, is software. IT WONT BITE. I will mention tools I use in faking later on, but to be honest when you start to master Photoshop or any other imaging tool, you will find your own ways and methods of doing things which is how it should be. I could tell you what to do but experience it and learn for yourself by making positive mistakes, in essence a learning curve and you will gain a much greater appreciation for the software AND develop your confidence in making a fake.
GOLDEN RULE NUMBER TWO
RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH
This is the hardest part of faking...looking for the perfect picture to go with the image you have to be faked...and yes this DOES mean looking at LOADS and LOADS of porn. So many times I come across fakes where I just KNOW they've taken the image to be faked and just cut it out randomly without thought and stuck it on the first porn pic they come across...and then wonder why it looks shit. The problem is that to find the perfect image you have to consider these criteria I will talk about later but mention here
1: comparative quality of both images.
2: comparative height and width of images
3: face shape i.e does the face look the same shape i.e are they both round faces
4: angle/pose of the faces
5: interfering objects in the face to be faked i.e hair, shadow, hands, props etc
It is really a no brainer that if you want your fake to look real, make your job a whole lot easier by finding an image that the face you are faking looks similar. Obviously there are tools you can use in your chosen software that you will use to make it picture perfect but having a rough likeness is ALWAYS an advantage as a starting point.
GOLDEN RULE NUMBER THREE
BE YOUR HARSHEST CRITIC.
If you want your fakes to look real, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is a substitute for you being over analytical about your work. The amount of times I've seen fakes on Imagefap that look like Frankenstein's monster, Picasso on a bad day or faces on bodies that look like they just and I mean JUST survived hitting the floor face first falling from 10 storeys up is staggering. SHOCKINGLY some of these people expect payment, but that involves another issue entirely which I will go into later.
But seriously LOOK at the fake you have done and ask yourself...would i want to do that if I saw them in a bar?
Ask your self
1: do the proportions of the head look right is it to big? to small?
2: does the angle look right?
3: does the hair differ in colour?
4: does it look like the wrong head on the wrong body? (if this keeps happening GIVE UP)
5: do i need to work on the skintones?
6: can i remove those annoying bangs?
And look out for things like
1: website logos
2: erroneous elements you forgot to or missed when deleting after pasting.
GOLDEN RULE NUMBER FOUR
SHIT IN ALWAYS EQUALS SHIT OUT
So you got your image someone wants faking, chances are it is an image someone has taken from Facebook if you want to use FB images that's entirely your perogative. I as a rule these days NEVER use FB images if you dont know how to tell a FB image here are things to look for
1: an image will either be in dimension 604 x 453 or 720 X 540. the first is FB's original image size after compression for photo albums, the second value is the size an image appears after compression
2: downloaded FB images will have file names that look like this
n_35463749_86764838484_94757658_8384857_84747439......you get the point
There are numerous reasons why I don't use FB images and one if the main ones deals entirely with this GOLDEN RULE and that is
IMAGE QUALITY
Always remember these are your eyes that you are using to produce something for SOMEONE ELSE'S fantasy. Bad quality images will screw your eyes up as you work feverishly away to make it look good, bottom line IT AINT. Bad quality images are called bad quality images for a reason and are usually a result of:
1: to much compression (see Facebook)
2: shit photographer i.e out of focus, blurred images
3: pixelation from poor lighting in the original
4: image size (in bytes) is to small which means no detail
5: copied head size is to small in pixels (I never work with a head that is smaller that 300x250 pixels)
Number 5 is particularly difficult to address as the others are obvious, but the height and width of the face you have taken will become a problem if you need to increase the scale in the picture you are pasting it into. as any software when increasing the size of a head has to effectively "make stuff up" for instance if you are going from 150x100 pixels up to 450x400 pixels. Thats a lot of pixels that werent there before.
Make sure the image size of the head is as big as it can be. I'm happy working with a copied head size of those dimensions but thats a big push these days.
It is totally up to you regarding what images you use, but eventually you will realise you will be spending YOUR time on something that will ALWAYS look shit for SOMEONE ELSE. Not to mention the fact that if you are constantly accepting poor images your work will constantly look poor and be thoroughly disheartening as my next GOLDEN RULE will point out.
GOLDEN RULE NUMBER FIVE
THANKS FOR THE FAKE BITCH!!!
This I have to say is one of the main reasons why i gave up faking on Imagefap. That is the Fappers themselves. If you start faking for other people EXPECT
1: impoliteness
2: people treating you like you are on their payroll
3: people treating you like you owe THEM a favour (always point out whose doing the fake)
4: people thinking they can do better themselves
5: no gratitude
6: impatience
7: nothing at all.... not even a Thank You Bitch!
This is the downside to faking on Imagefap and it isnt going to change, although this might change if fakers were quicker to think with the head on their shoulders and not the one on the end of their dick (been there done that got the t-shirt. To avoid the fuckwits of this world I suggest
1: insist on communication via profile messages, third party messenger like Yahoo or MSN or email
2: ask for comments from the people you fake for
3: ask for a fan add and favourite gallery add as well
This sounds like a chore but the more communication you have with someone the more appreciated you will be and make faking more enjoyable and some friends along the way. You can also gauge with experience how much of a dick someone is as well. Remember this is your time you are giving up for someone else so keep in mind that they are likely going to treat you one if not some if not all the ways mentioned above so dont set yourself up for a fall.
I know this sounds like I'm preaching but, I am only relaying my experiences on here. I know you'll feel eager to please everyone but WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA make time for yourself and NEVER feel obliged to ANYONE. If they don't like your attitude thats there look out always remember...
YOU ARE THE FAKER
