Poem: The kingdom grew between your legs.
|
The first kingdom was of the stars
and moved much too fast for any painter to appreciate
into black vacuous spaces
and elsewhere
towards the holes that god had missed
while the lights were off.
Your hair is always beautiful. Before
the words of so many men licked up it's strands
like unspilling syrup
if your brain had been more open
maybe you'd only be stupid on the inside. Instead you buy dresses
to fall apart in the starlight of your own inspection,
it's like
your eyes are only mirrors
but your voice is still like an opera
opening on the wrong street.
