EasyTony on Preserving Comments and Message Thoughts
|
|
One of the challenges of the ImageFap.com system is that it does not appear to have a way for members (as opposd to administrators) to find the comments we make on photos, videos and profiles. Thst is a shame, because I think it would interest me and many others to browse through the comments another member has made over time. Taken together, comments may say as much about a member as their profile.
Sometimes I will make a long comment on a member's gallery photo because that comment will briefly appear on the gallery poster's profile. I do this if I think the comment might interest others. (If we put thoughts in a direct message, no one else can see that content.) Sadly, after a few weeks the comments get pushed off the member's profile page. It is then almost impossible to remember the gallery and photo on which they were made.
Other times, I may write a long reply to another member in the message system, and then realize those thoughts might interest a wider audience. Also, I might not be able to find those thoughts later if I do not recall to whom I sent the reply.
Since each member here has a blog, and we can search all blog entries for key words, putting some of our longer form comments and message replies into blog posts may be a good way to preserve them. It will also make those comments more accessible. I will try to do this going forward. I'll start with a photo comment I made to a young woman who recently became a member. She suggested in her profile that spending time on ImageFap might be a little sinful.
