I have given up grappling with how to merge files with VideoLan VLC, via CMD, stuff like ( "C:Program FilesVideoLANVLCvlc.exe" [1.mp4] [2.mp4] [3.mp4] --sout "#gather:std{access=file, dst=gurl cumpilation.mp4}" --sout-keep ), etc, while VLC is an absolutely perfect bit of software for many other tasks.
If you like to post your own compilation videos on MovieFap for others to enjoy, this seems a far easier option
Your videos need to be of the same or very similar resolution, before they can be merged to one. That means same FPS, CODEC, FILE TYPE,DATA RATE, ETC.
I used Handbrake, find here
https://handbrake.fr/
to sync all my files. Free software. Download, install, open, source selection, file open video file(s). Click the down arrow on " add to queue " and from the drop down box select " Add All "
Ensure video encoder is set on H.264, select "constant framerate" probably at 30, under the video heading, and constant quality at 22 RF. Check on the bottom of the screen the "save as " detail, usually set to save on your videos folder, or click "browse" to change the saved videos destination. Then click the green "start encode " button. That's it. Let the programme do the work.
After syncing my videos I then used Microsoft Clipchamp, probably in your computer already. ( Win11 ). Win10 actually has it's own video editor included, through the Photos app or by searching "Video Editor" designed as a successor to Windows Movie Maker.
Scroll down and select
create new video, import media, click blank square icon under the import media on the left to add all, click the green cross on the right to add all to timeline.
Name your new merged file on the "name your file "
Click on "export", unclick the "save to cloud" button to save in your computer, or leave as is to save to your OneDrive. Saving in your computer is probably either in the source file, in the same folder where your videos were located, or the videos folder in your computer, or the downloads folder. That's it. If you can't be dealing with reading help and instructions all day on each programme, just ask mother Google about specific questions on specific software.
I am no way an IT specialist, by no means. I just realised how easy this was, and wanted to help other newbies like me.
Best of luck, RandomlyRandy.
