    Monstrosities.clonebots Explained

I just added the category Monstrosites.clonebots to hold certain AI slop of celebrities which has become so prevalent.

Often this stuff is a bit uncanny valley and the tits have been enhanced to say the least, and the faces aren't *quite* right etc.  It's almost as if they've been grown Dolly the Sheep style and prevented from growing bio-brains while 'gestating' and the cells used to seed the plastic axolotl tank where the fetus grew came from a test tube containing saved cells from popular celebrities of decades past.  Even long dead celebrities have had their cell lines dug up and preserved in test tubes to create clone fleshbot chassis listed in online catalogs.

Because the artificial human fetuses are prevented from ever growing a human brain they have no human rights.  Indeed they have less rights than animals as they are literally vegetative meat, like a carrot made of human flesh.

In their skulls is an AI pilot that simulates a personality based on available footage and sometimes interviews with the person being simulated but also augmented with whatever roles their owners wish them to play.  It's become commonplace to get anatomy 'enhancements' beyond what the base genome specifies, so these 'clones' may not look quite phenotypically identical to their templates.  Many times the users just install a popular generic personality and shape that to their desire by interaction.  This is the recommended way to set up a new clonebot for beginners.

But there are some who find the artificial personality bland and banal.  The AI cores in the skulls of these bots run a governor program that keeps the bots unable to do harm or get too far out of line (though purists like to limit the governor process' influence to the bare minimum for safety and security completing the training by interaction)

Some even prefer to use a scanned human personality taken by destructively scanning a living human brain into a consciousness simulator.  While imperfect the ads state that over 90% fidelity is commonly achieved with success rates  (stable running personaliies) upwards of 80%.

Those who fear death, especially the old, or ill, or those condemned to long terms of incarceraton or death have been known to volunteer for this even though it entails giving up all human rights.  ( well not ALL human rights - one right is retained though giving rights to process ghosts chafes at the sensibilities of many given the state of human/bot relations and unemployment woes ) even the process ghosts of ex humans do retain the right to suicide termination - but not a quick or clean one.  Televised impalement at The Arena could take minutes or days to result in death.  Often waivers were signed to allow other usually less terrible termination events designed to entertain such as gladiatorial combat, but the law specifically the Black Mirror act of 2059  guarantees even process ghosts have the right to Impalement as a measure to prevent excessive cruelty though ghosts get copied and reincarnated all the time - it's well known the generic ones were pieced together from ten or eleven real people's ghostprints which intitially made for a fragmented unpredictable ghost but which has been polished and perfected over the years into something almost everyone finds satisfactory and easy to train..

There were always rumors ( some true ) of rich zillionaires trying to jump their ghosts into bots on the sly, to live forever and everyone knew some probably did get away with it, maybe even retaining control of their wealth for longer than a human lifespan, but this was strictly illegal..  Just being a ghost lost you all rights, so if the sham were ever exposed it meant becoming as any other process ghost inhabiting a cloned flesh chassis. There wasn't room on Planet Earth for infinite lifespans for humans.  When you ghost left your body you were dead whether or not that ghost now piloted a fleshbot. It was an uneasy truce between the classes that prevented a revolution.

Anyway that's why all this AI Slop gets classified as Monstrosities.clonebots.  I suppose Monstrosities.Clonebots would be for rogue Clonebots that defeated their governors or perhaps for being made into one.
