Book: The Anal Compulsion in Homosexuality by Victor J. Samuels, 1969
|
First book I've read in Years.
I have found notes about this book title online for some years now - and only available in very limited numbers and with rather low credibility as to the author and publishers - and not at all in any relation with typically credible researchers.
The few cases of availability have been very low and at very high prices, often from Collections and university libraries – by Membership only.
I just bought one last month on eBay for $2.69 + sales tax + shipping for total of $8. Wow,
a paperback Published in 1969, and so except for (not only yellowed, but light) browned aging paper, with no dog-eared pages, no writing on any pages, no yucky pocketbook or room deodorizer stench – this thing must have been read once or twice, shelved and protected all this time – and maybe part of an estate in a quick clean-out or some such lucky disposal.
BOOK: The Anal Compulsion in Homosexuality by Victor J. Samuels
Victor J. Samuels - pseudonym of Victor Banis and Sam Dodson.
Victor Banis and Samuel Dodson are best known for their collaborations on campy gay pulp fictions.
As of this morning before I went outdoors, I was at page 112 of 152 pages (not counting the 17-page Glossary, the 4-1/2 page Bibliography and 17-1/2 pages of non-fiction book lists - and this is almost too much to handle - in 1969 the year I graduated high school these books were selling for 60 to 95 cents.
So the book is neither clinically nor anal-itically oriented, yet I really Like the overview of human anal sex attraction and practices even before (so-called) Civilization, writing, and long before the religion industries, and meaning back through global Tribal times.
It is not arousing, nor provocative, merely a nicely written narrative of humans and their sexual use of their ass holes. I am pleased that I was able to find it and to have the opportunity to read it during a spell during which my Internet contact was OUT.
I even had to patch a 4-conductor 200-foot telephone lead that collapsed under the wet snow load, now temporarily blocking passage about 600 feet into my 800 foot long (unplowed) gravel driveway.
Heck I didn’t even get online until 7:15 pm - and it has taken this long to catch up.
