People often ask me if it's true that women really do fantasize about taboo subjects like boys, bondage, incest, beastiality and other taboo subjects.

Of course they do.

This is what Henry Miller, one of the greatest writers of erotic fiction ever, had to say about women's sexual fantasies: "I have always suspected that women have richer, wilder fantasies than men..."

And Miller's right, on the whole they do. Women are more comfortable with their fantasies than men because they are better able to differentiate fantasy from reality. They have no concern that fantasizing about a particular subject might lead them to want to do it in real life.

Sexual fantasies are a mental thing, a dream world where anything can happen, but most of all they're fun! And so they should be. Nancy Friday described women's sexual fantasies as being like a Secret Garden into which modern women are rushing, and leaving all their inhibitions behind!

This is what Friday says in her book, Women on Top: "I'm not sure most men would know how to handle the encyclopedic variety of sexual images these women entertain. Once upon a time women were as faithful to their one standard fantasy as they were to their men in reality. In the early 1980s the single image screen changed to a smogasbord."

I've met women online who have had fantasies that were so taboo and extreme that I have initially been secretly convinced that they were men. It was a great revelation to me, and a victory for womanhood, when these women proved me wrong when our online friendship turned to voice, cam, telephone or even a real life meeting.

I'm celebrating today that there are so many women who have completely thrown off the restrictions of rules and regulations in their fantasy worlds. In the Secret Garden of sexual fantasies there are no rules and we can indulge, quite deliciously, in all the things we would not, or could not, do in real life. Fantasies are fun and can literally be about anything you want them to be.

I'll leave you with the words of Zoe, one of Nancy Friday's females interviewed for Women on Top: "I have an IQ of 158 – 165 (depending on the test). I am a college student, a theater major (technician) and art minor. I am 22, single, and was a virgin until four months ago, and am still dating my first. My favourite fantasies are dogs and young boys, and sometimes women, although for my personal 'moral' and legal reasons these are simply fantasies."
