(Idea) Neutrasol Research Facility: Incident 524-X13

A brief conversation taking place between the head of research at the facility, Dr Lauren Elliott and one of her lab supervisors Dr Kelsey Sheperd regarding incident 524-X13. The incident took place during experiments into developing a drug which can stop the progress of neutrasol during the early stages of the castration for patients that changed their minds, the project is codenamed "2nd chance". The incident on the afternoon of Friday last week when Dr Elliott was out of office, this conversation is on Monday morning.

This is just a rough outline of how the conversation would go.

Dr Eliott: Kelsey, I saw that there was an incident logged last Friday in lab 20 during a test with a volunteer subject. You were supervising that experiment, no? I know you've not had time to prepare a full report but could you run me through what happened? Corporate is already asking me for details. I understand that the experiment ended up with the painful and rapid castration of the subject and the male lab tech intern who was present during the experiment.

Dr Sheperd: Of course. It was quite a freak accident. We were testing the effectiveness of candidate compound... um.. REV-221. It was a simple Neutrasol Home Kit reversal experiment protocol for the "2nd Chance" drug. The software simulations didn't come back with any warnings and it was actually flagged as quite a suitable candidate compound.

Dr Elliott: Oh yes, I remember when we scheduled this test at the planning meeting the girls from Computational Chemistry were absolutely sure this was going to be it. So what happened?

Dr Shepperd: Well, the initial Neutrasol treatment a couple hours earlier went fine. We had just confirmed the rapid test results that the testosterone production has ceased and the markers for the stage 2 of the nanite activation were present. In short, he was well on the way to becoming a eunuch. During the physical tests he was still able to produce quite a strong erection (we usually get the interns to perform that part), this was nothing unexpected considering the subject's initial testicle volume and his free testosterone levels.

Dr Elliott: Yep, it takes more than a couple hours for the sex drive to disappear. Especially in young healthy patients.

Dr Shepherd: Anyway. We checked all the vitals and everything, as dictated in the experiment protocol, and we deemed everything was in order. So I gave the greenlight to go ahead with the second part of the experiment. The senior lab technician injected the subject with the prepared dose of REV-221. About 30 seconds in, the subject began reporting pain and a strong burning sensation in his scrotum. At about 50 seconds, he started ejaculating. He would continue ejaculating for about 28 minutes after that. I've not encountered anything like that. Fortunately the quick thinking senior lab tech had started collecting the ejaculate, taking samples at about 1 minute intervals and also called in the medical team.

Dr Elliott: Sounds like she's handled the situation well. What did the medical team do?

Dr Shepherd: The've started him on an IV drip of saline to prevent him from getting dehydrated from all the fluid he's losing and given him some pain killers.

Dr Elliott: Mmhm, I see. That makes sense.

Dr Shepherd: Yep... The subject ended up ejaculating almost 3 litres of fluid. Which is quite extreme. Initially it looked like healthy, fertile semen. Then it turned pink for a bit, then went completely clear. About 70% of the fluid, by volume was clear. By the time he started ejaculating clear fluid, both his testicles have completely disappeared. As if he was already two weeks past the Neutrasol injections.

Dr Elliott: Wow! Any working theories on what might have happened?

Dr Shepherd: Nothing concrete yet, but what I think happened is that the compound sent the stage 2 nanites into overdrive. That would explain how his testicles got absorbed in less than 20 minutes.

Dr Elliott: Hmm, how about the ejaculation part?

Dr Shepherd: That seems to be consistent with two mechanisms built into the nanites. Initially when they produce too much cell debris they transport it away via semen fluid to avoid overloading the patient's immune system. In the later stages any extra nanites are transported away via seminal fluid to avoid the potential scenario where the nanites start breaking down other tissue as well. Noticeable leaks of semen or seminal fluid have been observed during safety tests of Neutrasol where subjects were treated with higher than the maximum recommended dose, but nothing this intense.

Dr Elliott: That sounds like a feasible explanation.

Dr Shepherd: Yeah. I'm just waiting for the lab girls to return the analysis from the samples. Then I can finalize the report. It should be on your desk by end-of-day.

Dr Elliott: Perfect. Thanks.. One more question though.

    Dr Shepherd: Yeah?

Dr Elliott: What about the intern? What happened to him?

Dr Shepherd: Oh, the dumbass was staring at the subjects twitching erection with an open mouth when the subject started ejaculating. He got a massive rope of cum right in his face and mouth. My only guess is that some of the nanites actually made it into his system. Basically the same thing happened to him as the subject but 40 minutes later. Seems like the hyperactive nanites that got into his system started replicating. We collected lots of data from him too. So more concrete analysis on him is coming later too.

Dr Elliott: Huh. Interesting. I know corporate really wants us to produce results on "2nd Chance", but do you think they would be interested in the next gen castration drug where we get rid of the stage 1 hormone blockers? It would be way cheaper and we could make the castration procedutre take only an hour. Compared to Neutrasol Ultra, that would be a huge step up.

Dr Shepherd: That's actually quite a good idea... Should I plan a few more tests with REV-221 so we can see how the dosage effects the speed?

Dr Elliott: Sure thing, but finish the report first.
