For those many of you too young to have lived through the incredible 60's, I will provide a bit of context. It was a turbulent time, like the present one, except that the music was incredible: hard rock, soft rock, ballads, instrumentals (no lyrics), folk, folk-rock, rhythm and blues, and many other genres. There were love songs, anti-Vietnam songs, songs about growing up, urban songs, and all the rest.
Nancy Sinatra was the daughter of Frank Sinatra the famous 'crooner' of WW2 and thereafter. Her first big hit in the 60's was These Boots Are Made for Walkin'. To most people, I guess, it was just a silly song: 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin', and One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.' But to me, with my innate orientation toward Femdom, the song was incredibly exciting, for unknown reasons. She followed it up with 'How Does That Grab You, Darlin'? with an album cover of her in a mini-skirt with arms crossed over her chest. Very tame stuff by today's standards, truly, but to my teenage hormone-fueled mind, it was beyond thrilling. I still have one of her vinyl albums.
