After four agonizing days of silence, Don finally broke down. The secret he had been desperately clinging onto was tearing him apart from the inside. He decided to tell his wife Emily about the horrible incidents he had suffered. 

It wasn't easy; he described the way he was forced into Alan's car and sexually assaulted. However, he also confessed that in the beginning, he had participated willingly, misled by the trust he had placed in his boss.

Emily was flabbergasted, unable to comprehend what she was hearing. The man she had loved and trusted had a life she knew nothing about. When the officer arrived, Don repeated his story, this time to an audience of two. His voice trembled as he outlined every dreadful detail, each word echoing in the tense silence of their living room.

As the officer left to further investigate the matter, Emily remained behind, her heart pounding in her chest. Her world had tilted off its axis, and she felt a sense of betrayal and disgust. She could no longer bear to be in the same house, the same room where she had shared her life with Don. 

With a heavy heart and teary eyes, Emily packed a suitcase. The sight of her departure was another blow to Don. As the door shut behind her, the finality of it echoed through the empty house. In the span of a single day, Don's life had turned upside down, and there was no telling what the future held.
