No pain involved at all if done properly. The use of a sex lubricant is a MUST; KY brand products are the best, but even plain old body lotion works well enough, even adding a pleasant fragrance to the experience! The trick is to start with something small, like one finger, to get the anus to "relax" and get used to the fact that something is going into it.
