Femdom definition
The definition of femdom changes a lot based on who you are talking
to. If you talk to a sub, one submissive may say that it is purely a sex
kink. If you talk to a domme, they might say that it is both a kink, a
lifestyle, and a belief.
Before I tell you what I think Femdom is, let me share a few examples
of what others think Femdom is. I will not be criticizing them, but it
is up to you to judge or disagree/agree. I will only be sharing the
thoughts of others so you can see a wide range of definitions of Femdom.
I will mostly be referring to the submissive as a man. But note that a
submissive in FEMDOM can be a man or a woman as long as the domme is a
Woman because, well, femdom literally means female domination. So,
please forgive me if I say “him” rather than saying “him/her”.
1. Femdom is a Sex Thing Only
Some people believe that female domination is and should only be kept
inside the bedroom. They believe that Femdom is purely a sexual
activity. These people do not adhere to female led relationships, a
relationship that is dominated by a woman 24/7. FLR covers the whole
dominion of dominating a man. Often, FLR stretches to domestic tasks,
career, etc. I will explain more about FLR -Femdom later.
A submissive that believes Femdom is only for the bedroom may be
proud of having a domme or a female dominate him in bed, but they might
not like it if the female dominates them outside of the sex session.
For example, one man may say, “It’s so hot if she spanks me while we
have sex.” But they will also say, “It’s NOT hot when she orders me
around to wash the dishes.”
In short, they want to be dominated in bed and in the play session
only. They will submit to a woman only on the grounds of the sex
session, but they will not allow the domme to do this on regular life
affairs.
2. Femdom is FLR – Female Led Relationship
A Female Led Relationship (FLR) is a relationship between a
submissive and a domme where the dominant is allowed to dominate the
submissive in all aspects of his life.
This includes a female dominant choosing the clothes her submissive
wears (even at work), ordering the submissive to do domestic tasks such
as washing dishes or laundry, the female dominant can decide what food
the sub eats or when they can have sex. It can even go further to the
point that the female dominant also handles the financial asset of the
submissive, deciding where the money goes and where it is invested.
For example, one female domme did not allow her husband to drive. She
took away his driver’s license because in Saudi Arabia, women are not
allowed to drive.
As you can see, FLR is a serious commitment between the dominant and
the submissive. It may look like the female dominant is having all the
benefits of FLR-FEMDOM, but FLR can be tiring for the female dominant as
well. Always leading and dominating a man 24/7 can be a huge
responsibility.
FLR-FEMDOM is mostly practiced by mature couples or serious couples,
but it does not mean that professional dommes do not use FLR-FEMDOM.
Some aspects of FLRs are used by working professional dommes, like
dominating a man 24/7 even if it is a platonic relationship.
3. Femdom is made for Professionals
Other people believe that Femdom is purely a business-client
relationship. These people practice FEMDOM with the thought that the
domination must only be in a professional setting, set in a designated
space and specific time, and done by a professional dominant. A
professional domme is a female dominant that takes in clients and works
primarily full time as a domme. These professionals are mostly skilled
or experienced dommes.
This means that if you want this kind of Femdom, you believe in
separating your romantic relationship and your dominant-submissive
relationship. You may have a wife or a girlfriend, but you also have a
professional domme dominating you.
You believe that you must treat a female dominant differently from
your wife or romantic partner. You divide your time as a submissive and
as a romantic partner.
As a sub, you may lick the shoe of a domme and let the domme spank
you, but you will not allow your wife to treat you this way. You can
allow your domme to kiss her feet, but you will not kiss your wife’s
feet. You praise your domme in a different way you praise your wife.
At the same time, if you are a domme you believe that there should
not be any romantic dependency over the sub, because they are purely a
client.
4. Femdom is Gynarchy or Female Supremacy
