A Mistress when taking on a male slave will always look at the cost of keeping him. Like any other pet, there can be a cost involved if it is necessary to provide him with a place to be chained up, and meagre though his diet may be there is a cost of feeding him if adequate work is expected. This applies of course to the case of a male who is to be a full time live-in kept man. Then the man is often presented as her husband and often is if she has decided that he will marry her as a way of keeping him chained to her legally. Usually a Mistress will not wish to restrict herself although it must be said that a Mistress with a full time lifestyle slave husband rarely sees the need to restrict herself and that she will generally be free to engage the worship of any other males that she wishes.

Having trained a new slave successfully, a Mistress may decide that she will keep him as one of her string of males if he is useful. He will be instructed that he will visit her regularly and what his duties will be. She will also negotiate with him how much of his income he will assign to her. An older male will have more to offer and she will tell him her expectations. Generally he will be instructed that he visits her each month and that any other Mistress will be forbidden him from this time. She may expect to earn £2000 to £3000 a year from each of her male slaves. A younger male will have less, but his younger body will compensate for her lower income from him.

With a young male, a Mistress has the option of sending him to stud. Sperm donors are in high demand but good ones are not an easy prospect for a family planning clinic as young men are naturally unreliable and find it difficult to adhere to the rigorous routine of attending twice weekly with no other sexual activity. Thus, the sperm from a young male controlled by his Mistress is a good prospect. She controls his urges and possibly has him in chastity and the clinic know they can rely on large high quality donations. A young male may be at stud for a year or so and his stud fees produce her an income of over £1000.

As a male that has been passed between Mistresses on two occasions, I know that there exists between some Mistresses a bit of a free market where their slaves are concerned. A Mistress with too many slaves may decide to "sell" on on to a friend with fewer. I can only guess at if there is any money involved but the recipient Mistress will know that he comes with income for her and she may pay something to have him. In my case, the first time I was "traded" was when a younger friend of my Mistress visited while I was in attendance and she decided that she would have me from then on. I received instructions from her a few days later and was told that I would only serve her from then on. Questioning this was not an option of course. The second time was when my Mistress decided to give a friend of hers a helping hand. New to the country, she had no slave at all so I was given to her.
