41 pictures in, roughly 35-40% done. Damn.
Anyway, to answer your questions why I'm not uploading it as I go, or post what I have;
1) If I upload it in chunks, I feel pressured to make the rest. With normal captions, I try to make sure it has some standards, but if a mistake slips through, whatever. But since I'm writing something that actually happened, I want to make sure it's as close enough as I can. I know I can't put it _ALL_ down on text, but even the "condensed" version should be as accurate as possible.
2) I want to keep a sensible flow. Sometimes I'm working on the "next" caption, and when rereading the "previous" caption the flow isn't really sensible, so I have to rewrite either the previous or next caption, or pick a new picture, or start from fucking scratch. With other captions, if it's not entirely sensible or if I make a small mistake, fuck it, right? But in this case, I want to make sure the flow is correct and sensible.
3) It happened over the span of around 2 months, with different events. How can I split them? Events? Date? It's difficult to split it. So I'm trying to create a version where I can upload the entire story in 1 folder, where I can split them up, AND where I can seperately upload the highlights for the people that aren't interested in the whole story. So I'm writing it down in a manner that would work for most audiences.
4) I'm busy, really. I work 50 hours a week in a high pressure job, exercise 12-15, I also sleep; I don't have much time to work on captions. As a matter of fact, I'm also squeezing in a few during workhours (hooray for working at home).
5) I want it to be done right. With my normal captions, I throw the pictures that match my idea in a folder, write 20 captions in 2 evenings, see what works on what picture, and voila. But now I'm writing what happened in that moment, and find a matching picture. That takes a lot of F*ing time, more than I thought. :D And I think on 25% of the captions I've currently made for this story, I had to rewrite the text because the picture didn't match. Yes, I'm being very punctual and neurotic about this one.
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing that there's people interested in the story, and that actually motivates me even more to make sure it gets done! Thanks for the support! Just trust me when I say, I'm doing the best I can with the time I have. :)
