Scammer Spotting tips for other sites - apart from OF?, where there's content sellers, lurking behind them are scammers, usually about 10! In theory it could have been legit, but i wasn't gonna take the chance.
Either the OC seller, or an impersonator, had made a third account, spelled almost identical, and messaged this thirsty idiot to chat. The first red flag i missed was luring me off Xtwit to goog chat, "to avoid DM limit", legit, second was asking me a bunch of friendly stuff but tactfully avoiding specifics about themselves, right to privacy yea, but a conversation should be a two way street, if its not, another red flag,still unassuming me, thought they were building up to the usual "do you want to buy my pics?" which I pre-empted by dropping early how broke I am, very much true, but kept to myself that payday is tomorrow.
Tables turned so fast I didn't hear a squeak. Either a, they felt bad for me and actually wanted to give me a vague "present", b, they've done this beforeand know the tricks, or c, they're very a quick thinker.
Now it got murkey. Luckily I live by a marsh and I know not to rush around in the dark (if they're rushing you BIG red flag!) Transfering this "present" which was now obviously financial, they needed me to install SendApp from google, or that was the go to as i dont have applepay, cashapp doesnt work between them US and me UK, and I'm perma banned from Paypal for my own protection (ironic) after my card details were hacked throuh it many years ago (got money back, bank fraud team were on it) .
so SendApp it was.... after faffing around getting that set up, ID verified, real name, address, phone, email, then PIN number - which could have been anything, but I stupidly used my actual card one as its alreay hard wire firmly in my brain (wont do that again!)
NOW, like a knife between the ribs,, I shit you not, they dropped the ball -
quote "OK babe send me your email and PIN"
"What? Why? Why do you need to log in to MY account? That doesnt make sense? (with the sound of pennies dropping in my ears) "tis is starting to sound a lot like a scam hun"
With more red flags than a Soviet Union May Day Parade:
"Just send it to me, I told you its a surprise lol scam how? I'll just send what I have, Trust me this is not a scam like wtf why you think so babe?"
I may not be a fan, but I know when the DJ pulls a rewind! Ignoring their protests, I scanned the Ts&Cs of SendApp, screenshotted exactly what I hoped to find, and shoved it under their nose - NEVER DISCLOSE YOUR USER ID, PIN, OR OTHER SECURITY INFOTO ANYONE. etc DO NOT SIGN IN ON ANOTHER DEVICE THAT ISNT YOURS.
Without skipping a beat, instant reply, along the lines of 'if they sign in they can put money on the app, sign out, then i sign back in and its instant - no transfer costs, waiting period, other mumbo jumbo.
While that sounded possibly, kind of, slightly plossible, there was no fuckin way I was going to give a stranger access to all my real Identity Info! So I didn't (the our protanganist, levelled up, lost his erection, patience, and temper. Arguments ensued, chaos reined, realization dawned, risk management kicked in, I fucked off!
Screenshotting the main points of the debacle, I blocked and reported them on both google chat and Xtwit, grassed them up to the main account and realised - the account that had first contacted me had barely any followers in cmparison, had lightlytweaked links, and spelling,and wasn't even following or being followed by, the main account (and just for extra emphasis, a previous encounter they hadn't deleted, with another male, who had publicly told them to f-off with google chat - stick to DMs or get bent - exactly what I could and should have done - and will be doing the next time an online stranger tries to offer money for nuthn!).
P.s - I went and cried to my hot femdomme virtual mommy :p
