Just this past week there was a video on Dr. Steve Turley's YouTube channel on the dust-up that has been created between Feminists and the 'Trad Wives'. I guess this is a big Tik Tok thing but I'm not sure how much because I'm not on Tik Tok (I keep my social media very minimal, almost to the point of non-existent). There was both an article and a video by Ash Sarkar that was critical of the Trad Wife movement however I believe that Ash made the mistake of 'going down the wrong rabbit hole' in that she chose to focus on the racial (most of the women are White) and religious (most of the women are Christian) angles. A few of the online wives were familiar to me from YouTube, such as Rebecca Barrett and Ally from Realfemsapien, however there were also quite a few that I had never seen before. Where I believe that Ash 'left money on the table', so to speak, is that early on in her piece she mentioned women reacting against the modern world, which she admitted sucked. She then proceeded to write about something else and did not pursue the reactionary aspect of trad wife-ism to it's furthest extent, preferring instead of steer back to the racial and religious aspects, which is low-hanging fruit and easy pickings for most writers in today's wokeness-obsessed pop culture. This is crucial however because it begs the question, "Why does the modern world suck?" Also there is, "For whom does the modern world suck? Is it just for women or does it suck for men as well?" I personally saw gliding past the reactionary nature of the trad-wife movement while focusing on race and religion as the intellectual equivalent of hanging a small curtain over one half of a painting and then telling people that they were still looking at the entire painting.
