Waxworks 1988.
A waxwork museum comes to town, and a mysterious man invites some teens to come to a special showing at midnight. Once inside, while viewing different exhibits, the scenes come alive and the viewer is sucked into the story being portrayed.
There is a fascinating scene where the heroine, actress Deborah Foreman, enters the fantasy realm of Marquis De Sade and is subsequently whipped. She submits to being tied to the whipping posts and her back is bared. Her reactions to the whip striking her bare back are fantastic.
The scene portrays one of the most realistic whipping for what would have been that time period of 1700s. The victim would be stripped only to the waist and only whipped on her bare back.
This whipping scene ranks second only to the one in “The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant”
