Prostitution is primarily performed by women, but there are transvestite, lesbian, shemale, transsexual or gay prostitutes as well. Prostitutes perform a very important, positive social function. One of the main forms of prostitution is open street prostitution that gives quite some freedom to the women/persons performing prostitution to meet and exchange with their potential clients. Open street prostitution is forbidden in many countries which is an outrageous shame. PLEASE FIGHT FOR AND DEFEND THE BASIC RIGHT OF PROSTITUTES TO OFFER THEIR SERVICES IN PUBLIC SPACE. In other countries street prostitution is the major venue of prostitution altogether. The major disadvantages for professional providers of sexual services are rain, snow, cold weather, extreme heat or sunshine, street violence, poor environmental conditions. A traditional by-product of street prostitution is pimping, with the pimps dividing streets and public space among themselves and for "their" whores, but also providing some basic elements of public order in the fierce competition on the market of sex. Pimping is ambivalent for prostitutes but it creates a positive element of order on the prostitution market. Die Prostitution wird hauptsaechlich von Frauen ausgeuebt, aber es gibt auch Transvestiten, Lesben, Transen, Transsexuelle oder schwule Prostituierte. Prostituierte erfuellen eine sehr wichtige, positive soziale Funktion. Eine der Hauptformen der Prostitution ist die offene Strassenprostitution, die den Frauen / Personen, die die Prostitution ausueben, eine gewisse Freiheit einraeumt, sich mit ihren potenziellen Kunden zu treffen und auszutauschen. Prostitution auf offener Straße ist in vielen Laendern verboten, was eine empoerende Schande ist. In anderen Laendern ist die Strassenprostitution der Hauptschauplatz der gesamten Prostitution. Die groessten Nachteile fuer professionelle Anbieter sexueller Dienstleistungen sind Regen, Schnee, Kaelte, extreme Hitze oder Sonneneinstrahlung, Gewalt auf der Straße und schlechte Umweltbedingungen. Ein traditionelles Nebenprodukt der Strassenprostitution sind die Zuhaelter, die die Strassen und den oeffentlichen Raum untereinander und fuer "ihre" Huren aufteilen, aber auch einige grundlegende Elemente der oeffentlichen Ordnung im harten Wettbewerb auf dem Markt des Sex bieten. Zuhaelterei ist fuer Prostituierte ambivalent, schafft jedoch ein positives Ordnungselement auf dem Prostitutionsmarkt. Die oerffentliche Daemonisierung von Zuhaelterei ist rein ideologisch und beinhaltet keine realistische Wahrnehmung des oeffentlichen Sexmarktes. / Gallery No. 5 is devoted to one specific country: Hungary. But since the downfall of Communism in 1989 public control of sexuality has fallen into ill repute. Despite the anti-liberal Orban regime in Hungary (which is a striking anomaly in Europe) restrictions on prostitution have NOT been tightened. Although the prohibition of brothels and organised forms of prostitution is still in place. Lifting the ban on brothels or other organised forms of prostitution is still something to be desired very much, since it would provide a stronger base for prostitution altogether, but is not to be expected in the foreseeable future. An organisation of sex workers, the "Szexmunkások Érdekvédelmi Egyesülete" (SZEXE), including homosexual and transgender prostitutes, exists since 2000.
