Camila Mota (born January 31, 1974 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais) is Brazilian actress, playwright, director and visual artist. After working in different theater companies, such as the Utopia Exercise Center and Studio Stanislavski, he joined Cia. Teatro Oficina Uzyna Uzona in 1997, acting in the creation and design of all the company's projects. She was co-director of Os sertões, a project transposing the book of Euclides da Cunha to dramaturgy. She conceived and presented projects and exhibitions in several prominent spaces, such as Pampulha Art Museum, Inhotim and OCA, among others. She was the coordinator of the Antropófaga University and editor of A Bigorna magazine. Her work is at the crossroads between performance, drawings, video and installations. she joined the Teat(r)o Oficina Uzyna Uzona in 1997, where acted in the creation and conception of all projects since then. she was co-director of Os Sertões, a project to transpose the euclides da cunha’s book (Rebellion in the backlands) into dramaturgy and audiovisual language. she works on the coordination team of Universidade Antropófaga – Teat(r)o Oficina’s practice of knowledge exchange and transmission. in 2019, she directed Mutação de Apoteose, FLIP’s opening show: a devouring of Os Sertões for the here and now. she also acts as a director and advisor for video and live movie at Teat(r)o Oficina – introduced in the 80s, a strong feature of the company’s language. she is the director of the production company Cabra Filmes and an artist and performer at the Arquivo Mangue: a living organism of work and production at the intersection of the languages of theater, video, poetry and visual arts, in partnership with cafira zoé.
