    Teja Reba (born 1978 in Ljubljana, Slovenia) studied art history at the Sorbonne in Paris and performing arts at the Utkal University in India and Kyushu University in Japan. She attended contemporary dance programmes and workshops at the Centre of New Dance and Improvisation (Freiburg, Germany), ImpulsTanz Festival (Vienna), Nomadic College (USA) and Emanat’s Agon, Dance Theatre Ljubljana and Studio Intakt in Ljubljana.nTeja has been working freelance in the area of performing arts as choreographer, performer, dancer and director since 2004. She has collaborated with Forced Entertainment (Tim Etchells), Slovenian theatre directors Janez Janša, Dušan Jovanović and Sebastijan Horvat as well as with many domestic and international choreographers.nIn her author’s work she is often collaborating with dancer and choreographer Loup Abramovici. Their 2011 performance 650 Experiences (History of the Body Not Yet Stolen) gained critical praise and was picked as the best performance of the season. Their latest works are Today is Tomorrow ‘s Yesterday (2014) and Made With Love (2015). In 2013 she was awarded the Ksenija Hribar Award for her choreographic work with her long-standing collaborator, choreographer and dancer Leja Jurišić. In the same year, their work was included on the list of 200 up-and-coming contemporary artists and shown at the BiennaleOnline, Artplus New York. They collaborated in Sofa (2010-2015), Between Us (2012), The Second Freedom (2013) and Ideal (2015). Her performances were presented at important regional and international venues and festivals. Teja was also active in the European network A Space for Live Art and the research platform Identity Move (2013-2015).nShe is former vice president of the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia (2013-2016), she was a member of the Awards Board of the Prešeren Foundation, granting the highest national awards in the field of arts and vice president of the Working group for permanent dialogue with non-governmental organisations at the Ministry of Culture.nBetween 2016 and 2020 she has been programme director of the City of Women International Performing Arts Festival. In addition to managing the festival, she has curated several international exhibitions and mentored and produced works by Slovenian female artists for the City of Women association. She has developed new year-round programme activities such as the digital archive, the Special Library for Contemporary Arts and Feminism, the arts education programme, the international residency programme, and the publication Reflecting City of Women. In partnership with other organisations, she has conceived and managed multi-year EU projects such as Performing Gender – Dance Makes Differences, Musica Femina, Women on Women, BE PART and Performing Gender – Dancing in Your Shoes. Under her leadership, the City of Women has received two EFFE Labels conferred by the European Festivals Association to the best festivals in Europe and the Princess Margriet Award, given by the European Cultural Foundation.nIn 2020, she was the artistic director of the working group for the City of Ljubljana candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2025.
