Tara Jepsen (born 1973) is a writer, actor, skateboarder, and stand-up comic living in Los Angeles, California. ince 1999, Tara Jepsen has written and performed sketch comedy alongside her friend Beth Lisick, performing in venues and festivals across the United States. The pair wrote and acted in an original web series entitled "Rods and Cones", which was named one of Indiewire's 25 Best Series/Creators of 2014. Tara and Miriam Klein-Stahl, illustrator of the Rad Women book series, co-founded queer skateboard brand Pave the Way Skateboards.She studied improv and sketch at UCB, and has studied with story guru Joan Scheckel. Tara toured and performed extensively with seminal queer cabaret Sister Spit from 1997 on. She co-hosted legendary San Francisco queer literary open mic K’vetsh with Kirk Read at a gay men’s bath house for over ten years. Pre-pandy, Tara co-hosted monthly comedy show JOSH with Michelle Tea. Jepsen began her film career in 2011, when appearing in "Sinking State"(2011, dir. Frazer Bradshaw). Since then, she has appeared in short films. Jepsen is currently featured on the web series The Skinny, and holds a featured role in season two of Transparent, Amazon's Emmy-winning series.
