Have to turn off VPN

Postby AnonyXXmous69 on Sat Jan 11, 2025 9:51 pm

Any one else having an issue lately where they have to turn off the VPN to access the site?? I honestly thought this site was down for like the last week because I couldn't access it - ended up turning off my VPN, and VOILA! Site pops right up. Turn it right back on..."site cannot be found". Seems very odd, but I don't see anything else on here regarding this.....

This isn't an odd thing. That is how VPN works. Most of the time everything is fine. There is no guarantee.

Why use a VPN to visit the site? I connect directly from my home PC to the site and have zero issues. You might be using a VPN that either blocks this site or is located in a country that wouldn't allow this site naturally.

I don't use a VPN and can normally access the site just fine. However for about a week now I've been having problems. Many times I get a timeout error, yet when I do a down-detector test it says the site is up and working. I've tried using a different browser and that didn't help. To rule out a browser problem I tried running a traceroute and I could see it exiting my home network, hitting my ISP, and then nothing, eventually it gave up and said the site is unreachable. Then I thought I'd try one of those free anonymous browsing sites (kind of like a VPN but you don't need to install any software). Instantly the site worked!

I don't know what the problem is, but it looks like there's something that is causing the site to not work for some of us.

If they’re in the same boat as me, they might be in one of the US states that have implemented age verification laws specifically targeting p0rn sites. The only way around the laws is via VPN.

Now that Ifap has instituted an (IP-specific) age verification wall, getting in here is a bit more problematic. Since I am on Apple gear, I make use of iCloud Private Relay, which is kind-of like a VPN but more limited. I have no control over the servers being used, so sometimes (like now) I’m coming from an IP in a safe state. Other times the IP might be in an age-verification state. So, my time spent here is going to be a lot less than in the past.

If anyone would like to suggest an affordable (and safe) VPN a girl could use, I’d love to hear from you. Money’s a bit tight these days.
