Hi my avatar has been missing for about 4 weeks

The link to the full-size image is DOA, though.

Not generally. I found account(s) where even the full-size image is still there. But they are really rare.

Perhaps it could help the IT guys to find out what's different with this account.

Are we clear to upload new avatars? Or is this an issue we should wait for it to get worked out?

I guess the images were deleted for some reason. So if there is no backup they will be gone. For analysis I will stay on the actual state until they found the solution.

not recently changed avatar .....not linked to pic page ...(that i can recall) .....disappeared yesterday ....but i see also that some other members avatars and thumbnails have gone away as well and appears as empty squares on visiting their page ..but the thing is its not all or nothing it's partial loss ..scattered at random ..hope this helps resolve

I don't hope so. It's not only the profile avatars which are gone. It's also the club avatars.

A small statement from our fish could help here.

Hey gang!

For the last few weeks or so we have been trying to pin down the issue of missing avatars. Which is getting progressively worse.

While looking at the accounts our IT and web page guys see something quite right. But we need more info.

So if your avatar has gone away tell me these things.

1. Did you change the avatar recently?
2. Give me an approximate date when you first saw your avatar missing.
3. Was the avatar you used a direct link to a picture somewhere on our site?

I will check back and accumulate the list and send it to the IT guys

Information:

1. The avatar was first changed to the current one one or two years ago
2. I noticed it missing approximately 14 days ago
3. To the best of my knowledge my avatar is not linked or duplicated in any of those photos in my galleries or elsewhere, I believe.

One of my accounts that I use for different things on the site, the avatar was gone. Then on the next day it was back! The hell?

Also it depends on what country you view the site from. The missing avatars aren't as severe in some places.

When I know something I will post it here. For now upload a new avatar if you want to.

Well.. I can tell you the URL of every missing avatar because the links are still there and even the secure code is updated. Everything is kinda ok with the avatars except the fact that they are missing. So there's no fapping hand of course.

It's a 404 error telling me that simply the file was not found. It's not really a database error setting the avatars back to zero. From outside it just looks as if a deletion routine has gone berserk in the subdirectories of /thumb/ and /full/ and (for now) only those which hold the avatars.

If that routine is still running it seems to be only a matter of time until it also runs into the image uploads.

When I know something I will post it here. For now upload a new avatar if you want to.

An update would be nice. Uploading new avatars will help with the profiles but not with the clubs. You did realise that most club avatars are gone too?

I also checked the fact mentioned above that some avatars seem to be there but the big image is missing.
