i keep being notified i have comments on pictures but theyre rarely there when i look,this seems strange,never used to happen

It has to do with the bugs the site has been dealing with over the last month or two. The comment is likely on a different photo, you have to look around a bit.

I know people are getting frustrated, but the bugs and delays are far better that what's been happening to other sites recently (that is to say better than being shut down!)

Yes - I'm finding sometimes the link to the comment takes me to the correct picture, but sometimes it takes me to the picture before the one that has actually been commented.
