I can't guarantee anything but I've been very active here for over a year (daily gallery posting) and haven't noticed any spam or other problems as a result.
If you are worried about the new tabs and new ads, stop using the site.

I must have had about 20 different spammers commenting. The bizarre thing, the really bizarre thing is that some people with genuine accounts become their fans. One guy is a fan of every account I blocked. I mean....come on, get real.
