club membership problems

My requests to join private clubs never go through.....When I hit submit, I get a white screen and have to back out. What do I need to do to join a private club?

I have to say, I haven't encountered your problem. But it sounds similar enough in terms of probable cause (yep, more than policemen and lawyers use that phrase nowadays) to a few that people have been having with regard to ads, popups and popunders that you may want to read the permanent thread {aka "Sticky"} on ads in "Help & Support." It might also be a firewall issue, as the Clubs are "served" from a slightly different URL (though on the same numerical IP address) than most of the rest of the site.
