Planned Site Maintenance - Monday (extended)

Postby longhairfish on Fri Dec 05, 2025 4:48 pm

Hi everyone!

On Monday morning (see link) the site will be in what is called "Read Only" mode. This means you can only browse the site.

You will not be able to make comments, manage your account, upload (send) new pictures, or anything like that.

Basically just look at the site and don't do anything else.

This will be Monday at 10:00 UTC. Down time should be less than one hour. To see what time that is for you check this link.

UPDATE : The work is still being done.

Normal operations should happen within the next hour or so.

So, 11:00 AM New York City time. 5 PM Paris. And so on.

Still some bugs to be worked out. History tells me that this could be a few more hours. Expect things to not be working properly.

There is a substantial delay showing new galleries. Normally if you create a new gallery it will show on the site within 90 to 120 minutes. Right now I am seeing delays of 5 hours. Lets give the site more time to catch up.

UPDATE : Still things broken that need to be addressed.

New accounts : Oddly some people get the email notice to confirm the new account. Others do not. This is rather annoying since the confirmation does work "sometimes".

Videos not playing. This is our second attempt to get this fixed. As of today (Tuesday) I am led to believe this has been fixed.

Avatars. As you can see, every day more and more avatars go away into cyber space. Our IT guys are still trying to find a solution. As far as I know there is nothing from stopping users from uploading a new avatar.

There are a few other oddities I need to check in to. But for now just know that "I know" and the IT guys know also about the problems.
