Not received a confirmation email

I have filled in a created profile & sent off My email address for confirmation. As Yet I have received no confirmation & am unable to sign in with the new account? I tried to re enter the details again to create & it now says Email address already exists , so I wonder if it has registered ? Any help greatly appreciated, perhaps a helpful Moderator can give Me advice plz ?
