For most of the last 4-5 days no part of the site has loaded at all for me. All I've got is a totally blank page.

I keep getting a blank page too, although various site checkers say the site is up. This has been going on for a few days now

This fixed it for me -

This is due to GPU (hardware) acceleration not working which is enabled in Internet Explorer 9 by default. Usually Internet Explorer 9 would detect your GPU doesn't support GPU acceleration and would disable GPU acceleration, however sometimes this isn't the case. To make web pages load you need to disable GPU acceleration. To do this, go into Internet Options -> Advanced tab and from there ensure 'Software Rendering Mode' is checked.
