Suggestion: Original filenames instead of random number?

Postby wgerpauli on Mon Dec 19, 2011 4:47 am

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to download files with their original filenames instead of that randomly generated number that imagefap provides. This way it would save *lots* of time when trying to save pictures that you like, and to keep them organized.

The usual case is:
user x uploads a file named ExGFJenny001.jpg, but when you right-click and save it it ends up as 54376234234.jpg. It would be great if the pic could be saved with the original filename.

One thing even better, would be to prepend the gallery number or name to the filename, that way pictures will be organized wether or not their original filenames were the original. for example:

user x uploads a file named ExGFJenny001.jpg under gallery "My Ex GF Jenny" (with a gallery id of 445632).
it would be nice to download the pic with the following filename:
445632_ExGFJenny001.jpg

Just an idea.
Thanks for reading.

If you use Image Host Grabber (Firefox Add On) or Bulk Image Downloader (for Windows) the file names will download with the original names.

Longhair, will Host Grabber download all the images in a gallery at once ?

Yep. I use it all the time. And I just had a dude in the chat room ask the same question. He is happy as a clam now. Although that is a phrase, I don't know how happy clams are.

Gosh ! This actually worked, Longhair ! If you don't mind, I'm gonna put together a tutorial in my BLOG that explains clearly just how to download entire galleries from ImageFAP through Firefox, unless you wanna keep it a secret ?

Also I uploaded, well, 3 videos to MovieFAP. The first I messed up on the frame-rate, the next was good, but then they wouldn't appear. I thought maybe I must've deleted them so I uploaded the correct one a 3rd time. Now I have 3 videos but don't know how to play any of them, and will they appear in my regular ImageFAP account so others can view them from there ?

And how do you delete videos on MovieFAP anyways ? Here's how my screen appears.

Thanks for your patience with me ...

You can make something if you want. This topic of saving pictures in the masses comes up a few times a year.
