It's a known problem. Solution? Will be found some day. The IT guys are after it.
I proposed fish to simply set up their own IRC server when it came up that IF will get a new chat. But this simple solution seems not to be good enough for IF. Perhaps because IRC protocol is especially made for (textbased) chat, works without problems since 1988 and allows access either by IRC client or websocks. Ok, direct inclusion of images is a bit difficult there. But hey... it's a chat. Not a "I show you my images I uploaded somewhere"
So I chat somewhere else. And I also set up my own IRC server to communicate with my employees. Costs: about 40 Euros per year for rental of the hardware.
Just accept that IF does things the way they do.
