Problems with gifs

while viewing beta.imagefap.com on my tablet, the list of gif galleries on page used to show the playable pictures stationary with the ' |> ' watermark on them, but the gif didn play, it was just a preview. but when you clink on the gif, then it would play.
That was very convenient and fast way of looking for new gif galleries. However now ALL gifs are now playing automatically, even when searching for them (the whole gallery list plays). This causes the list of galleries load very slowly (since it has to load each gif separately) and takes a very long time to even load a single list of galleries. I looked in the settings and couldn't find a way how to turn this "feature" off. Any suggestions?
