I've been using the "backurl" jump link since I posted the above. Without it, it still appears that the homepage immediately follows on successful log-ins, at least for me. I don't think I'm the only one, so post to this thread if you're getting anything besides your Profile page after you log-in.

Whenever I've logged in since the update my browser has remained on the home page. I need to click on "My Profile" to get there.
