Looks to me like the phpBB "skin" is indeed breaking down more than a bit.

"Smile" looks like a printer icon, "Rolling eyes" has gone to a teensy little picture of somebody/something, "Exclamation" is an exclamation point between two colons, and "Ubergeek" is, similarly, the non-word ugeek between two colons.

I seldom use the old ordinary ones anyway -- I've always thought they were too tall, and tended to throw off the space between text lines in posts. This looks almost like they tried to install a more modest set and it didn't take. But I think it's more likely we're headed for a "skin" related crash of the Forums. Don't forget that through most of the day they lag abominably.
