Guess you missed it. There is a 2nd option to use your cell phone to upload. I really don't like how this is set up though, unless something changed in the last 24 hours. Scrolling through my most recent gallery to add a single picture is a bit of an annoyance. I'll get over it though.

I have not been able to test the mobile upload yet, my i-phone has no mail installed, but as soon as I solved that I will see how the upload
process is working for it. I see what you mean with adding to gallery, I have already asked if it is possible to change that, galleryid would be a
better solution

As we don't have this solved or sorted out yet, I'd like to make a couple of observations.

In the case of adding to a gallery --

If you look in the Location bar of your browser, galleryid (or gid, to be more accurate) is shown and the number after the "=" matches that of gallery into which you're trying to add pictures.

Example:
Code: Select all
http://up.imagefap.com/upload.php?gid=2502181

Something fell out, or was ignored, when they set up the new "choice of action", "choice of upload method" page, and the end-up is we're left to find the gallery we just came from and want to add pictures to, from a pull-down menu where the list is in reverse order (oldest to newest) from how it appears in My fap>My Content.

Personally, I'd like to see this order match the one on that Control Panel page, but then I've got over 400 galleries to scroll through.

In the case of creating a new gallery --

As the uploader most likely "picks" or generates a number for a new gallery when the upload process completes -- when there are categories to associate with it and a number of pictures it can add to its database for later publication on the Big List, your browser Location bar merely shows:
Code: Select all
http://up.imagefap.com/upload.php

Pretty much like the old way. Here I wouldn't change a thing :)

Hey, folks:

Something I just noticed, while adding to two of my galleries and creating yet another one, that the pull-down menu the new Uploader gives you of your available galleries *includes* the ones that were wiped to zero pics in the server mixup (see the Admin's sticky on lost images for the details), which we as users don't even see on our My fap>My content lists but do see on the page (or if, like me, you've done up genre sections, pages) linked from "Show all galleries" on our Profile pages.

That whole phenomenon has been commented on/complained about before, and I didn't think it much of an issue until I saw it happening to my own uploaded galleries, etc. It's kind of like the "Private galleries" arrangement, but in reverse: where we could do something to/with them, we can't see them listed, but everyone else can on the lists to which they have access, but it's useless to them because the galleries have no pics anymore. And having them in the new Uploader's pull-down menu is just one more "tease", if you get what I mean.

And there's another glitch to it: it no longer has "bump power."

A couple of days ago, there was an Uploader error that those who tried to add to existing galleries had to contend with. I appreciate that they fixed it, as I was able to both create one gallery and add to two others. However, only the gallery I created has shown up in the "Latest 5" list on my Profile page. Neither were the ones to which I added, moved up in the genre sections of my "organizer" (route: Profile page>Show All Galleries link)

The most good I can say about the ones added-to was that their total number of images increased accurately, and the Uploader and/or image parser made good thumbs and full-sized pics out of the new additions.

It just needs one more little "boost" so it can "boost" galleries freshly added to, to the top of the Latest 5 and wherever else they may appear on a semi-permanent basis (like our Organizers). Otherwise, the 1000-pic-per-gallery limit will be even more absurd, saying as the one and only way members will be able to get their galleries viewed (Profile or Big List) is to keep creating new ones. As I highly doubt that everyone (or anyone) has 1000 pics ready-to-go at any given time, the question again raises itself: Why such a high limit?

("Not back on it, Joe, still on it.")

EDIT: This quirk is not browser-specific, nor does it (seem to) rely on whether or not one has logged themselves in. I've surfed to my Profile page in every browser on my desktop save IE, and my Profile page's "latest five" list is still "topped" by the gallery I created the other day, not the four galleries I've added pictures to since.

It looks to me like they removed the "bump power" of the Uploader in order to regain for us members the ability to upload pictures at all. Not a good move, from where I sit, as it makes it harder for our so-called "fans" to find where our new stuff is "hanging out." Unless they want to "hang out" themselves on their Favorites pages, and I have no doubt this glitch is affecting those as well.
