Gallery Photos out of Order

Postby HAWAII222 on Tue Aug 26, 2008 2:02 am

Every time I upload photos the get out of order in the gallery. Re-Ordering them is a very time consuming process and I'd like to avoid it if I can. Is there a reason they get mixed up in the gallery, and if so what can I do to fix it??

You can try putting them in order, adding them to a zip file, and uploading that way. Or, you could try renaming them so they are in numerical order. I used to have problems with the same thing.

Did you use the "Add Images" feature? That way the order will definately be destroyed. (see http://www.imagefap.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=184)
If your gallery contains more than 20 images, use the method OSH has recommended.

Or, if you're using a computer with windows, don't download anything at all. Put the pictures you want to upload into one folder on the desktop, right click on the folder, and "add to .zip" should be on the list of options that pulls down. It'll create a new folder on your desktop with the same name, in .zip format. Upload the zipped folder, then delete it.

lol

To create archives i would recommend either TugZIP or PowerArchiver.

To mass rename files i use Bulk Rename Utility.

PA+BRU combo never gave me any problems with IF.

No, sounds like you did it right if you got a .zip folder at the end. What was the content of the folder? Fap accepts .jpg .gif and a few other types of images, but things like .rar and movie files don't work. Also, individual files have to be below 700k although folders can be larger than that. Check you zip folder and see if anything unloadable got into it, like a thumb database or something.
