Pages with gifs content or gif images take forever to load!
Makes site almost unusable.
Mac / firefox / vuze / 8meg a sec
Any help or hints?

Gifs are slowing down every page where they are on.

I think there have been posts on this in the past. There is a setting that can be adjusted to stop GIF's loading.
