*BUMP*

Nevermind. I had a tab up for a few hours earlier that had the page. But when I try to pull up another we're back to the original issue. When I used the tab I already had to upload, no progress bar came up when I uploaded the file. >.< Sigh, I had so many stuff planned to upload to.

I've seen such a problem today, I could upload small archives (about 5 mb) but archives that needs much more time for uploading (more than 10 minutes about 200mb) I could not upload at all. Sometimes upload don't want to work at all ^_^ that is so funny, like russian roulette  .... but as I understood sometimes such a problem appears on this site. thats a pity. I suppose all problems will be solved

I've been going by the rule of thumb that, when I click on the link, if the page isn't up in less than two seconds, it's not going to be.

The crazy thought persists in my mind that we're getting the arse-end of another attack from the same yahoos who were the reason it took so long to fix the second-to-last "flength file error" episode. If so, I applaud their new tactics but not their choice of targets.

...and meanwhile our last best galleries just sit gathering dust....

Okay, here's something that'll confuse you.

Postby Silversleeves on Fri Feb 19, 2010 1:44 pm

I just started a club and the uploader let me put up a 160x200, 94kb avatar for it.

And now going further into cloudcuckooland:

Club management is effectuated over on beta.imagefap.com, which has pretty much been forgotten about (at least by me) as an alternate "front door to the site" URL. The link to upload, if it's as relatively transparent as it is from our gallery pages or profile pages, is coming from there where there's next to nobody doing anything at any given time Giving it about 3 seconds of thought, my educated guess is that it's the traffic from www.imagefap.com that, for some unknown reason, is creating the problem.

Real-world analogy (which like all such of mine promises to be a little fantastic): It's like a whole bus load of people are trying to fit through double doors, like they've always done every day of the week every hour of the day since anyone can remember. All of a sudden the front of the building peels off from all the stress. But the back door still works.

Edit: I logged out of www, logged in thru beta, and clicked on the Upload link from my profile page. The Uber-Uploader main page came up in a snap. BRB -- wanna try uploading into a gallery next...
(6 1/2 mins later) A little lag, maybe 3 or 4 seconds, and the U-U page came up. Uploading now and getting speeds in the 80-110k/s range WITH progress bar. (8 mins later) Okay, Processing's done. Now let's see how the thumbs made out.
(9 1/2) Thumbs load fine, and they all seem to link OK.
.....
(36 minutes) Froze up -- there goes another theory down the tubes.

Nah, beta did not work for me this morning.
I created a new folder for my galleries named "redheads", and moved some galleries into that folder.
Using beta, I tried to change the default image to a 41K file on my desktop, and the site still hangs.

Yesterday, I did manage to upload a small gallery using the zip method.

I've attempted to add some images to a gallery (twice, but to no avail) that is already up, but even that is giving me no joy, upload attempts were at approx. 2pm GMT and 3.30pm, 1st time uploader came up, put the zip file to be uploaded in, started to hang at 8% waited until the ETA was past, blank page, 2nd time same problem, hanging at 17% instead this time. bare in mind this was a fairly large file >100 MB, i've uploaded larger zips than that in the past, with no problems. I'm also wanting to get a gallery together and enter it into the gallery contest (run by the lovely rougefemale) but with uploader problems, it could be a while before I can enter. Oh well, just have to wait.

Might as well add my 2 cents to the chorus ........ the Uploaders been pants for the last couple of days. Managed to get one gallery up by sheer persistance but its worse than spending xmas day over at the mother in laws.

While I love IF since finding it - awesome people here, but I just loaded a 30 pic gallery up on another site to see if it was a local, PC or otherwise prob and they zapped thru the ether within minutes ........

I guess I'll just have to go back to trolling porn rather than spreading back the goodness ... hehehee

shikaka_1875, you remember my advice from the last upload stall problem :) try again, this time wait 2 or 3 times the ETA and see what happens.

Pr0n Glutton there used to be a log out issue with having the uploader open in a second tab, this may be similar if you had the uploader open in 2 tabs.

and its starting to look like a regional problem near imagefap's home... for some reason, connections are dying before the uploads are finished. smaller amounts seem to go through but the larger ones stall and die... or are postponed in the queue.
