Chat room issues

Hi everyone,

Seems we are having some issues with the chat.

1. You can't log in at all
2. You can't direct message some or all users.

As for #1, try clearing your browsers cookies. This is the quickest fix - if it fixes it at all.

And probably the same for #2, although we don't know if this will do anything.

Topic is left open if you want to report what is happening to you.

Please don't say "It's not working". Instead, tell us what operating system you are using (Windows, Linux, MAC) and the browser you are using.

And if you can make sure your browser is updated. I know Chrome just came out with an update.

And finally, if you really need to get in the chat try another browser. I know Firefox works with no issues as of now. Or try a private / incognito window and connect from that.

Oddly it somehow works;
if You choose "extended" display on the favourite bar (icon with an arrow pointing down on the left) it seems to show the last message under the nickname.

Using Firefox and Edge on Win10, all updated to curernt versions. I get notifications about the number of new DM from others, but cant see them in the reading pane. Enabling the extended view as in the post before indeed shows the beginning of the most recent DM.
Rooms work normal for me.

Got it. Someone just sent me a screen capture of exactly what you described.

We never saw this happen before. And the problem does not happen to everyone.

Your account should be fine now.

If anyone else has the same problem messaging other users in a private room, just say so here. Or send me a message (faster) to my profile page. I don't check the forum every hour.

I reset your account like I did for everyone else. So...

ALL USERS

If you have trouble with the chat, log out. Do not just close the chat.

Go to your avatar on the top left of the page. Click it. Log out.

Doing so gives you a clean log out. The next time your session will be fresh
