Image Voting - what is it for?

Does voting on an image actually do anything? Does the gallery owner get a notification? Can you see your or anyone else's highest rated pictures? I can't seem to find a way to look at pictures based on rating...

you need an alert each time there s a vote on one of your pic?
well vote is only a plus here just seeing if your stuff is popular on the site.
seeing or searching pics or galeries based on rating can be an idea yes as i said on another topic...
i don t see where is the trouble!

It would just be nice to be able to see your, or all, the highest rated pics...without having to click on each pic to see its rating.

To answer the original question simply (hint hint Dorine), voting on an image presently does nothing except change the average rating of the image and/or gallery. There are no notifications of any sort.

how do you vote on a gallery or picture anyway? I've tried and i can't seem to get it to work.

You can only vote for pictures. To do so go to a gallery and click on any image, then scroll down and below you should see some stars on the right, click to vote. A gallery rating is just the average rating of all votes on images in the gallery.

Voting is useless. A wasted feature from Imagefap. Could be a useful in the profile/gallery favs/image favs hierarchy; auto generating most voted galleries by profile or type. Imagefap is too busy collecting ad revs to fund their legal battles to care.
