Real-world analogy...

Real-world analogy to define the outcome of the techs adding new features without fixing what's broken first:
Cooking a meal for five people with a sink full of dirty dishes. You're just going to have more to clean up later.

"He has all of Nelson's qualities, except one. He has not learned to disobey."
- Admiral Sir J.A. Fisher, RN, 1914, referring to Admiral Jellicoe

Bad analogy.

You might as well do all the dishes at once. Save time, save water.

Plus you're not doing dishes while 5 people are bitching about how hungry they are. Where are the priorities?

Perhaps a better analogy:

They're too busy pulling the trigger, and haven't noticed that the gun has jammed.
