I'm not sure I'm using the member search properly. it's easy enough to pick what country you're searching in, but I don't see a place to insert the state. I see the field for the city. Is there narrow down feature in the search? without it, it really makes searching quite difficult

The only thing you could do is search by city. But here is the thing. While users could provide the city, state, country, town, province or whatever - most people do not.

And even when you create an account on the site you are asked for the country you are in. This I find people usually do choose correctly. But we don't verify that.

So searching by town or city probably isn't going to be of much use no matter how we refine or fix that search option.
