Photo Downloads now assign a new, random filename

Postby Exposedbabe on Tue Dec 10, 2019 4:44 am

When we download any individual photos now, the original name of the image is no longer being used as the saved filename (such as img-321) on my computer.
Instead, a random file number (such as 46689775) is now replacing the filename which appears on the site....in much the same way that this site functioned a couple of years ago.
Is this a mistake, or is this new change permanent?
I much preferred being able to download a photo with its original/true file name (eg. img-321).

I have found the same. Is it permanent?

If you download the entire gallery while on a mobile device, the file names will stay in tact.

PC version you will get the random file names we assign.

Thank you.... So is there anyway you can make the PC version create download filenames in the same way as the mobile devices?
It would be greatly appreciated if you could. Thanks

We could - but we won't.

You see, other websites were insistent on trying to copy our site or 'rip us off'. This is why the changes you see right now will have to stay. The changes keep our costs down and keep this site free to everyone.

But what about single downloads? I do not use some 'app' to download whole galleries at once. I pic and choose items and do it all individually. Is there no way to leave the file name alone for that? (on PC)

Yes...I agree too, if it's possible.

I also only download single photos...one-at-a-time.
I don't use any mass download app.

Is this so that when some site posts a bunch of images with name 456912.jpg you can go and say "you definitely got it from us because you are using OUR random numbers" and not a common source?

OK Thank you. How does the ImageFap software determine mobile vs PC? What exactly constitutes a mobile device? The OS? Thank you.

Mobile device is detected by the site. So, cell phone, playstation, xbox, smart TVs or some tablets will get directed to the mobile site.

But some people dont like that. Most of the above devices will let you view the site in PC mode.

You have to mess around with the setting of the browser. Almost all browsers give you the option to view as desktop mode.
